The barbecue facilities and picnic tables offer a functional setup for local families, with play equipment that keeps younger children adequately entertained. What makes this spot notable is the unexpected tranquility despite the proximity to busy traffic, creating an urban oasis of sorts. Some areas show their age, with maintenance appearing somewhat sporadic, yet the reserve maintains a certain understated charm. The combination of shade trees and seating areas provides the basics for a family barbecue, even if the presentation lacks polish. Watching cars stream past while cooking sausages creates an oddly meditative atmosphere. This isn't Strathfield's flashiest park, but for nearby residents wanting a quick BBQ without travelling far, it serves its purpose. Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Strathfield council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
